Nut Straight

Having the nut straight means having made the best possible straight with the cards on the board. Remember, having the nut straight does not imply that you have the best possible hand. You can still be beaten by a flush or higher.

Example

Given the board above, while both you and your opponent have each flopped a straight, you have the nut straight.

Although there is a chance that someone could have flopped a flush with the above flop, its still correct to say that you have the nut straight.
