Pocket Pair
When a player's two hole cards are of the same rank, he/she is said to holding a pocket pair.
Pocket pairs are strong starting hands as they have a high chance (8.3 to 1) of hitting a set on the flop. If a set is hit on the flop, the chances of making a full house by the river is very high (2 to 1).
