Scare Card

Fortune Jack Poker

A card that, when it hits the board, makes it possible for someone to have made a strong hand.

The appearance of a scare card also presents an excellent bluffing opportunity if you are quite certain that it did not help your opponent(s).

Example

Your Hand
Jack of DiamondsTen of Diamonds
The Flop
Jack of ClubsTen of SpadesTwo of Clubs
The Turn
Queen of Clubs

In the above example, although you hit top two pair on the flop, the Queen of Clubs on the turn is a scare card as it make possible for someone holding two clubs to have made his flush or someone with either A-K, 9-K or 8-9 to have completed a straight.
